Pujas whose area is still being confirmed

The master dataset behind this site carries every puja's name and the names it is also known by, and — for most of them — the neighbourhood and the part of the city it sits in. For these it does not yet.

That is a gap in the research rather than a statement about the puja. Kolkata has several thousand pujas and no single authoritative register of them; placing a committee in the right para means matching a name against a source that says where it is, and for these that match has not been made.

So rather than guess, this site leaves the area blank and says so. A neighbourhood assigned by a plausible-sounding name is the same kind of mistake as a coordinate derived from a postcode: it looks exactly as real as a true one.

Everything except navigate. Each has its own page, each is searchable by name and by alias in the Explorer, and each can be added to your route as a reminder to look for it.

63 of them do have a confirmed coordinate despite having no neighbourhood assigned — the two facts are recorded separately, precisely so that one being missing does not suppress the other. Those 63 can be routed to normally.

If you know where one of these is, that is exactly the kind of correction the dataset needs. The list is rebuilt from the source on every deploy.

Search is the right tool here rather than browsing. The Explorer matches on the canonical name and on every alias the dataset holds, so the short form people actually say will usually find it.

Where a name is genuinely ambiguous — several committees in one area with near-identical names — the search returns all of them rather than picking one. That is deliberate: choosing on your behalf would be the one failure that sends you to the wrong pandal.

Nothing on this page describes a 2026 theme, a timing or a crowd level, because no such thing has been published for these pujas. Where the site knows something it says it; where it does not, it leaves the line blank rather than filling it. A pandal listing with an invented opening time is worse than one with no opening time at all.

Names come from the PujoKolkata master dataset, which is the editorial source of truth for what these pujas are called, which neighbourhood they sit in and how they are organised. Coordinates come separately, from two sources: the IndianOil–Kolkata Police Puja Guide, and community-curated puja maps of the city. Where both know a puja the guide wins, and where a position is only roughly known the puja page says so. Nothing here is geocoded from an address or a postcode: a pin derived that way looks exactly as real as a true one while sending you to the wrong street.

If a puja you know is missing, or something here is wrong, it is a gap in the dataset rather than a judgement. The list is rebuilt from the source on every deploy, so a correction there appears here automatically.
